Each page in the handbook should meet the guidelines outlined below:Define a concept from the unit that you will put into practice with your team. Explain why this concept is important for your team and/or their parents to understand. All sources that you use should be properly cited following APA guidelines.
Provide an explanation for how you will apply this concept in your team practices, competitions and other interactions with team members.For example, for Chapter 12, you may want to address ACL injuries. In the first section of your Chapter 12 page, you would explain what ACL injuries are, why they are a concern for youth athletes, and how they can be prevented. In the second section of your Chapter 12 page, you would explain what you will do with your team to prevent ACL injuries.
Use a minimum of 2 peer-reviewed sources to support your definition or application of the concept. Information from outside sources should be paraphrased using your own words. Direct quotes should be minimal. All sources, including the textbook, must be cited.
Formatting:Include a cover page that includes your sport and age group and the names of all group members. The cover page may also include an image that reinforces the subject matter of the handbook. This is the only page that should have an image.
Include a table of contents that includes a title for each page that indicates the chapter and the concept that you have addressed.
Each page of the handbook should include a title at the top of the page
The text on each page in the handbook should be size 12 font, Times New Roman font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins.
All sources should be cited using APA formatting guidelines.
A reference page with full citations for all sources used throughout the handbook should be included as the last page of the handbook.
Grading:The complete handbook and peer evaluations of group members’ contributions is worth 30% of your final grade (10% per section and associated peer evaluation). All group members will receive the same grade on the handbook content. Submission of the assignment indicates that all group members have contributed to the project and reviewed the handbook prior to submission.Includes a cover page, table of contents, titled pages, and a reference page, following formatting guidelines (10 pts)
Handbook pages demonstrate thoughtful engagement with the material. The concept is clearly defined and explained. The application of the concept demonstrates creativity and is clearly explained (60 points, 10 points per page)
