You are to prepare a weekly lesson plan for an early childhood educational classroom with a main theme, goals for children’s learning and development, descriiptions of planned learning experiences and accommodations for a child with a specific special need.

The Lesson Plan is worth a total of 50 points and will be graded as follows:
Identify the age of the students for whom the lesson is developed. This will determine appropriateness of the objectives, activities, etc.
Identify the main theme for the week.
Learning and Developmental Goals consistent with the Florida Early Leaning and Developmental Standards (http://flbt5.floridaearlylearning.com/). (10 points):
Identify one learning goal for the week. This is the overarching “Big Idea” that all students will gain from this lesson.
Include the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standard and Domain the Big Idea to which the Big Idea is related.
Include one or two (measurable and/or analyzable) specific supporting learning objectives that will support the learning of your Big Idea. These should relate to the Main Learning Goal and support learning in that area. For example, smaller, sub-skills or concepts (such as vocabulary) that will be learned during this lesson can be included as supporting learning objectives. Include some descriiption of how learning in this area will be evaluated.
Special Need and Accommodations (15 points):
Name the special need/disability you chose. Describe the learning and/or behavioral needs the student might experience because of the special need/disability (10 points).
Then list the specific accommodation(s) you are planning to use for a student with the special need to be successful during instruction. The accommodation(s) MUST relate directly to the special need/disability AND to the student’s participation in the lesson (5 points).
Learning Experiences (25 points – 5 points for each day):
Identify specific teaching behaviors you would use during the lesson to facilitate learning of the Big Idea identified above.
Provide learning experiences related to the theme for each of the following developmental domains: Physical, Cognitive, Social & Emotional, Creative.
Identify the main materials and/or resources you would use to implement this lesson. This can include people, etc.
Lesson plans and recommended accommodations depend on the age of the child you are teaching. For instance, you would not ask a 2-year-old to print his name, but you might an older child, depending on their special need. Make sure your lesson plan and recommended accommodations are developmentally appropriate according to the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards (http://flbt5.floridaearlylearning.com/) .
