W‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍hat I need you to put together is a larger document similar to the table on regional security initiatives on which you are already working, but this time focused on women empowerment initiatives in the 9 countries – GCC plus Iran, Iraq and Yemen. I need this to be as comprehensive as possible providing the name of the initiative, the date it was initiated and a detailed description. This could be laws put forward, legislation passed, or even local civil society initiatives. It does not just have to be government initiated. Also, are their regional steps that have been taken, for example, at the GCC level or programs put forward by international agencies such as the EU or the UN. Just to provide some examples, one person at our meeting mentioned the UAE Gender Balancing Council, another person from Iraq mentioned an Academic Networ‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍k of Women Political Scientists in Iraq. The overall idea is to understand what is being done on the ground in terms of women empowerment, what programs are considered to be successful, and where are gaps that can be filled by ideas from a project such as ours.
