prepare a poster dedicated to explaining one specific aspect of industrial/corporate sustainability.
Each student will prepare a poster dedicated to explaining one specific aspect of industrial/corporate sustainability. Suggested topics could include:
1)Case study of a particular company that has demonstrated a commitment to sustainability, where you present the strategies employed and the impacts/results of such innovations.
2) Alternatively, you can look at a government policy or societal trend and discuss how it impacts business/industry and how they will respond; examples could be the ban of single-use plastics in Europe, ocean plastics, Nova Scotia’s policy on renewable energy, etc…
3) Finally, you can investigate a strategy, policy or concept that is related to it; e.g. how design for environment, eco-efficiency, circular economy, eco-labeling, or other tools can be used to improve sustainability.
In the latter case, discuss the history of the concept – when if first emerged, which company/individual is closely associated with it (who made it popular or well-known, or was an early adopter that is known for being such).
Proposal and Extended outline (10%) – A brief written proposal of your topic, including a proposed title, short paragraph or two on the overall theme, and a detailed outline of the topics you plan to cover – include an annotated bibliography of at least five applicable references, and reasonable content (point form) to demonstrate progress in organization of research and thought.
