Determinants of Health Self-Reflective Paper

Learning Goal: I’m working on a nursing report and need an explanation and answer to help me learn. Background:As a profession, nurses know that a healthy lifestyle and making healthy choices leads to improved health in their patients. Unfortunately, there is a disconnect when it comes to taking care of themselves. Pam Cipriano, past president of the American Nurses Association, describes this as a gap between knowing and doing. While the nation’s nurses are well equipped to care for the widely diverse population of the United States, research indicates they do not necessarily practice what they preach. However, Dr. Cipriano adds that nurses who do participate in self-care activities are more likely to discuss the benefits of being healthy, making healthy choices, and lifestyle changes with their patients, and their patients are more likely to take them serious.Assignment:Assume that you are engaging in a new Health Nurse Health Nation initiative (Links to an external site.). The first step is to conduct a personal determinants of health self-assessment. Research the determinants of health that are applicable to you. Identify interventions to improve your overall health (using a minimum of two references to inform your discussion). Reflect on how this information influenced your beliefs and current and future practices. Additional Information:This self-reflection paper is a scholarly work. Since it is a self-reflection the use of “I” is acceptable. Follow APA formatting.
The paper should be a minimum of four pages of content. It should be peer reviewed with revisions.
