What does this assessment measure?
Directions: Administer the Concept of word and Concepts of print assessments and then score the results. I have included a copy of the zoo concept of word poem from the video if you would like to use that rhyme for the assessment. The best age for these assessments are children in preschool or kindergarten (ages three to six years old), but you may use anyone, including an adult if you are not able to assess a preschooler or kindergartener. The main thing is for you to have practice giving the assessment. All forms for assessment are in the textbook, as well as on the Homepage -‘Additional Resources – Supplemental Resources.
