What are some new trends that are emerging within journalism?
Submit notes on each document (assignment prompt, slide deck, handout, or article) that you read for this course. You have three options:
You may write or type comments directly into documents as you read, then upload those documents with your marginal notes/comment bubbles to Canvas. Yes, you actually have to write things (not just highlight). To receive credit, you need notes spread throughout the document.
You can write a 3-4-sentence summary of each document you read, drawing attention to specific points or ideas. Feel free to also include questions you have, or personal comments like, “This is different than I learned in xyz class. I always heard…” The most important part, though, is a clear, thorough summary. If you read more than one document, you’ll need more than one summary.
You can write down a bullet point list of ideas as you read. These do not have to be in complete sentences, but they should be thorough enough that you can look back to understand them. To get credit, you’ll need to include notes on the entire documents, not just the beginning.
You can earn up to 2 points per weekly reading check. To earn full credit, responses should be complete, clear and thorough.

Mainstream media has always had a diversity problem. That’s why I run my own newsroom.

3. What do you think is the most important trend, among the ones we discussed? Why? What is one additional prediction you would make about the future of media? Support your answer with evidence (“I have noticed xyz in the field, which makes me think abc,” as opposed to just, “I feel like abc…”) (1 point possible)
