focus on leadership and seamanship to stand out

This paper is for admission at Navy Officer Candidate School. I wanted to focus on leadership and seamanship to stand out among other applicants.
I want to have better transitions between my brief background, objective, and experiences in the essay.
I have always wanted to join the military, but I cannot satisfactorily translate what I have in my heart to the paper.
I also want to transfer the leadership skills from my work experiences to this essay, but I can’t describe how I wanted to. Here are some of my personalities and other things (not included in the resume or the paper) that may help with the writing.
I have built several websites for nonprofit and small businesses.
I have also led a small team of communities or churches to do projects.
I like to take charge of the project and be fully responsible for the team’s results.
I usually check and make sure everything is working as intended in the group project during the school years.
