IMPORTANT: Prior to responding to this week’s discussion, complete the following: Do a time audit for your class.
The purpose of this is to give you an idea of how much time you have to teach each of the concepts you are supposed to teach.
If you are teaching in a Texas public school, use your own schedule and TEKS.
If you are not teaching now, locate the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards for a particular grade level and content area by looking on the Texas Education Agency website (Links to an external site.).
If you are teaching in a private school, you can use either the TEKS or the curriculum standards from your school.
Out-of-state-students can use their own state standards.
For elementary teachers who teach in a self-contained classroom, choose one subject and use that for this audit.
